A
new President, a broken economy, and all the wonders of the Mojave
Desert remain as simply splendid as ever. Can't afford the overpriced
international travel so I run away to the wilds of So. California
Deserts to rejuvenate. Just returned from camping and since everyone
is hounding me for more pics I put a photo page here: http://www.advancedbrush.com/granite_pass_fall_2008.htm
Have another trip to the same area planned at
Christmas time this year. Hope winter stays as mild as this fall has
been.
After my stay in South Florida earlier this year to
try and sell the house down there I have decided to let family use for
this coming winter and then try to sell again after the housing market
recovers... or rather I should say if the housing market
recovers. The listing is still there in case anyone is interested...

So in 2008, I never left the country but drove my
tired old Ford Ranger across it 3 times. Covered a lot of miles and
the highlight of all places visited this year was Canyon De Chelley in
Arizona. I spent 2 days there and had a great time..... will definitely
go back this winter. Their WEB site: http://www.nps.gov/cach/
Also stopped by The Grand Canyon in July at the
height of tourist season. I have been there many times but never when
they have everything in full operation for the tourists. They had some
great lectures and several hiking tours that were both free and very
well done. It was kinda "Combat Camping" but was fun for a
couple of days. Their WEB: http://www.nps.gov/grca/
Oh Yeah..... and remember my summer comment...... "If all goes
as planned I should be home just in time for the desert "summer
heat".... boy was that stupid scheduling!" Well
I have had it! This is end of September and we are still breaking a
100 every day.... Next year I gotta plan to be gone!
