Winter Solstice.....           Dec. 21, '09                                          Revised:   December 07, 2009 02:00 PM

Full Blown Winter again in the Mojave. Got out for a few hikes but impossible to go camping with all the odd jobs I have been doing. My Mother from Indiana is coming for a visit on the New Year, It has been her lifelong dream to see the Rose Parade in Person.

All in all 2009 has been a good year. Would love to do more travel but need to work a while and save up. I am considering going to Europe next Spring and will stop and visit friends in Florida on the way. It all depends on how cheap a trip I can put together.

I am still doing Home Repairs to get through this little economic setback. Last Summer was slow but had a few little jobs. I am still looking for something more permanent but jobs are scarce and when they discover I am a "mature" worker with a long history of self-employment, I usually don't hear back.

That new tent I bought last summer is a bit of a disappointment. It is not rigid enough to take the Mojave winds. Same problem I had with the last one. All night long it flaps in the breeze. They just don't make the frames rigid enough.
